Internship at Boulder County Hazardous Materials/Internship at H3 Environmental LLC

Internship at Boulder County Hazardous Materials, project on public perceptions of household hazardous waste and barriers to using services; Internship at H3 Environmental LLC, project investigating the decay behavior of radon and thoron gas in air samples.

Trevor completed a summer internship with Boulder County Hazardous Materials. He will present on his overall experience there and the outcome of his independent project: a survey of how the public perceive their hazardous waste and the Boulder County facility. The survey uncovered some notable patterns and the results can be used to do targeted outreach and make the facility more accessible to a wider population within the service area.; Internship at H3 Environmental LLC, project investigating the decay behavior of radon and thoron gas in air samples.

A Dive into Four Student's Experiences with NEHA NEPHIP

NEHA’s National Environmental Health Internship Program (NEPHIP) is a 400-hour paid internship opportunity that links students from accredited environmental health programs with state, tribal, local and territorial public health agencies, with funding coming from the CDC. Four Colorado State University students will describe their recent NEPHIP internship experiences at Boulder, Garfield, Jefferson and Weld counties.

Alexandra Holmes and Bailey Reeves will be sharing their experiences as interns in the National Environmental Health Association Internship Program (NEPHIP). Alexandra was paired with Boulder County Public Health and worked on a project that focused on providing resources to prospective food vendor for events. Bailey was paired with Garfield County Public Health where she completed a project based on private wells and regulation adoptions. Their presentation will provide more information on their independent projects and their NEPHIP experiences.
